Important Notice for the Recruitment of Nepalese Domestic Service Workers (NDSWs): Group/Individual


The Government of Nepal has issued New Directives for the Recruitment of Nepalese Domestic Service Workers (NDSW).

  1. Any duly registered United Arab Emirati agencies which has the authority to recruit Nepalese Domestic Service Workers can submit the necessary documents to the Embassy of Nepal, Abu Dhabi UAE within the specified date and time by the Embassy.
  2. The Agency Registration Deposit fee AED 37,000.00
  3. Deposit by the Employer AED 3,700.00
  4. Agency Registration fee AED 2,000.00
  5. Agency Renewal fee AED 1,500.00
  6. The net annual income of the Employer (couple) must be more than AED 3,00,000.00
  7. The validity of the registered agency will be one year ( July 15 to 14 July each year)
  8. The minimum salary for the Nepalese Domestic Service Worker has been fixed at AED 1,100.00.
  9. Please be informed that after getting Visa for NDSW the concern UAE agencies must submit the Visa to the Nepal Embassy for verification and deposit AED 3700.00 for each NDSW on behalf of the sponsor.
  10. It is also be informed that concern UAE agencies/sponsors must submit the records of NDSWs to the Nepal Embassy within 3 days of the arrival of NDSWs as per attached format.
  11. The Nepalese Female Domestic Service Workers should be 24 years old or more.
  12. The Demand letter, Power of Attorney, Guarantee Letter, Agreement and Contract papers must be in Original (Hard Copy and Seal and Signature also must be First Hand).
  13. The attestation fee per page is AED 150.
  14. Submission time for the Demand is from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm. and Sunday to Thursday except public holidays.
  15. The Embassy may pay a study visit to the Agency or employer residence if it deems necessary.
  16. The Embassy will inform the Recruiting Agency approval or disapproval of the document for attestation only after 7 working days.
  17. The Nepalese Domestic Service Workers Recruiting Agency/Employer must receive the Nepalese Domestic Service Worker at the concerned Airport of UAE and inform the same to the Embassy of Nepal, Abu Dhabi.
  18. The concerned Nepalese Domestic Service Workers Recruiting Agency /Employer of UAE must bring the Employee to the Embassy of Nepal within three days of his/her arrival in UAE for the Registration.
  19. The Employer should come to the Embassy of Nepal in person to sign the contract and the contract must be signed by the Employer and Employee.
  20. The concerned Nepalese Domestic Service Workers Recruiting Agency of the UAE must submit a quarterly report by supervising salary, leave and other facilities as per the contract between the Employer and Employee to the Embassy of Nepal.
  21. The concerned Nepalese Domestic Service Workers Recruiting Agency/Employer of UAE must bring the Nepalese Domestic Service Workers at the Embassy of Nepal in every fourth month as requested by the Embassy
  22. It is strictly prohibited by laws of both Nepal and UAE to compel anyone under company visa to work as Domestic Service Workers.
  23. The NDSW shall not be recruited for any person other than the sponsor who has sponsored the visa for the designated worker.
  24. It is strictly prohibited to charge any kinds of cost to NDSWs (to come to UAE and return back to Nepal ) by the Recruiting Agency of Nepal and UAE and also by the Employer.
  25. A fully furnished Temporary Accommodation for the NDSW must be arranged by the UAE Agency until they are transferred to the sponsor.
  26. A set of Mobile Phone must be provided by the Sponsor to NDSW.
  27. NDSWs shall have the right to Retain his or her Passport.
  28. The Sponsor must arrange to insure the NDSW to have a family contact in Nepal each week.
  29. The concerned Agencies’ responsibilities will remain effective until and unless concerned NDSW returned back to Nepal.
  30. Any Sponsor who has hired a House Maid before this New Directives but failed to Deposit AED 5,000.00 must Deposit the aforementioned deposit at the Embassy of Nepal.
